If you manage a large set of items in the ShalomCloud shopping cart, finding items can turn into a lot of scrolling. A small but powerful update helps: there’s now a search box on the Configuration Items for Cart screen.
What the new search box does
The new cart search is designed to be practical—helpful without being overly strict.
- Searches item name and description only
- Does not search numeric fields (for example, group codes or other numeric identifiers)
- Matches multiple words together by looking for the combination across the name and description
In other words, you don’t need to remember where a word appears—if it’s in the name or the description, the search will find it.
Examples: how it behaves in real use
- Searching “Purim” returns items that contain Purim in either the name or description.
- Searching “Purim Carnival” narrows results to items that match that more specific phrase/combination.
- Clearing the search box brings back the full cart list.
This makes it easy to start broad and then quickly refine your results.
Why this helps (especially for larger carts)
If you’re trying to locate something like “kids Shabbat”, you don’t have to guess whether “kids” is in the item title or buried in the description. Just type the terms, and the search will surface matching items.
The goal: not too loose, not too tight
This search aims for a middle ground:
- Not so strict that you need exact wording
- Not so loose that you get a flood of irrelevant results
It uses your search terms and looks for them across the combined text of the name and description, helping you get to the right configuration item with less effort.
Try it in your cart configuration
If you make extensive use of the Shalom Cloud shopping cart, open Configuration Items for Cart and try the new search box with a few real terms you use day to day. You’ll spend less time hunting and more time managing the items that matter.
